Case Study - Rail Electrification

Recently Korvest Galvanisers has been involved in the rail electrification project in South Australia. As a component of this $400 million project, Korvest Galvanisers has delivered on time in excess of 1,000 tonnes of galvanised steel which is becoming part of the future of electrical rail infrastructure for the state.

Galvanising was chosen as the best corrosion protection choice for these projects as it is an economical and long lasting coating for steel, and particularly in this case it has to last for years directly exposed to all weathers. Maintenance of the steel could also be difficult, therefore the end users needed something that was self maintaining.
